Taiping Zoo & Ipoh trip

Ok, I was missing in action but I am back! How I wish I have more time now to update my blog. I have tons of photos and stories to share but I am really, very busy.

So here goes our Taiping Zoo & Ipoh 1-day trip which was half a year back during the Dec school holidays. This time, we brought Clayton and my parents tagged along too. We drove just one car using PAPAGO navigation system. Very precise and highly recommended.

After visiting the zoo, we headed to the famous dimsum outlet Foh San for late lunch. We reached there almost 2pm and there was no need for us to queue at all. Most of the food was out of stock too but we had a great meal anyway.

Then our next stop was Nam Heong kopitiam which is famous for its Ipoh white coffee. Very refreshing on a hot day.

After our coffee break, we proceed to Station 18 - a new shopping outlet in Ipoh. To me, it is quite similar to AEON Bandar Perda. That time was Dec but CNY deco was already up!

For dinner, we had Nga Choi Kai (bean sprout and chicken) - something not to be missed while visiting Ipoh.

The coffee shop was full of people as if it was free meal. Tasted good but the chicken dish was kinda oily. The place was not too hygienic too. After eating, we went to the washroom and saw something horrible behind the kitchen. Do you know how they wash their plates and utensils? There were 3 big basins.

Basin #1 - Full of water, soap and bubble
Basin #2 - Clean water
Basin #3 - Clean water

They just dipped the plates and utensils in basin #1, then #2 and #3. Cleaning process completes. It is a very fast process but no scrubbing or anything, just dipping into the water. How clean could it be? Luckily, all of us did not come across any diarrhoea after eating there.

After dinner, we headed back to Penang. It was raining cats and dogs all the way from Ipoh to Penang. Both kids slept in the car like little piggies. I am looking forward to our next Cuti-cuti Malaysia trip to Genting Highlands! Stay tuned.
