Proudly presents her handicraft to me. She wished me Happy Mother's Day, planted a kiss on my cheek, gave me a big hug and said "I love you" (^-^)

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

Janice's progress at school

Earlier, I have posted about Janice having exam in school. Exam has just ended, I hope she did well. Exam topics are English, Maths and Fun IQ for 4 years old.

In about 3 months' time, there will be a story-telling competition with the title "The Ant and the Grasshopper". I have been guiding Janice for the past few weeks and still does so every now and then. The story is picked by her teacher and everyone will be telling the same story. Although the story content is quite long, I am amazed that Janice can actually memorize most of the storyline. Sometimes she may forget what is the next line, but when I gave her a hint of the first word of the sentence, she can continue with the story.

She loves to practise standing on a chair/on the staircase, reading out very loudly. Meanwhile, Clayton will sit on his walker near to Janice, like an audience admiring his sister. Little children are so cute and innocent :)

Clayton's progress

Baby is now 10 months old. This means that another 2 more months to his first birthday! I have left my job for half a year already, how time flies!

Clayton is now able to perform below action:
-crawls backwards (strange enough, he does not know how to move forward)
-sits upright on his own when being put in lying position
-screams loudly when Janice bullies him
-spit out food that is less flavourful (eg. plain rice/tofu/steamed fish)
-cries when he finishes his milk/food (he NEVER feels full no matter how much we feed him)
-knows how to look up on the ceiling when I ask him "Where is the fan?"
-smiles/laughs when he sees his newfound love, Mickey Mouse
-make growling sound when he is angry (sometimes he will move backwards in his walker and show his tantrums too!)
-gets all excited when we are ready to go out
-sleeps through the night without anymore midnight feedings! Yay for me! I have removed his 8pm nap time from his daily schedule (previously he naps at 10am, 2pm and 8pm) and have increased 1oz of milk for his last feeding before bed time between 9pm-10pm. With one nap removed, he feels extra tired and will doze off almost immediately after drinking milk. Also, together with extra milk, he can now sleep till the next morning around 7am-8am without feeling hungry. Hooray!

Ok, that's about it.

Oh Sushi again

Initially we planned to go to Gurney but the traffic was super bad. Can you believe that it took us almost half an hour from G Hotel to the entrance of Gurney Plaza? Many drivers changed their minds and drove off while halfway queueing for the multi-level carpark. When we got nearer, hubby wound down the car window and asked the security personnel what was wrong. He told us that the parking ticket machine broke down and it could not provide any parking tickets. He then asked us to use the Kelawai Road entrance but he did not know that the whole Gurney area was jammed like mad because of this. Instead of routing us to another entrance, he should have used his mind to think and manually provide us the parking tickets. Silly joker! We were angry and hungry so off we went to Straits Quay.

I wanted to dine at Delicious but all the waiter and waitress seemed to be so busy and did not attend to us although we were standing for quite some time in front of the "Please wait to be seated" signboard. Feeling disgusted, I decided to walk in and instructed hubby to follow me to a nearby vacant table. Then only the waitress who was attending to a customer who was making an advanced reservation noticed us and said "Sir, you have to wait!" quite rudely. Hubby snapped back at her "Yes, we have been waiting!" Then the waitress continued to attend to her customer. That's enough! We stomped out from that restaurant at once.

That's when we decided to dine at Oh Sushi again. Before even reaching the entrance, a waiter was already standing there opening the door for us to go in and greeted us "Welcome" in Japanese. Once inside, we were greeted again by other waiter and waitress. It felt so warm. So friendly. Hubby said "See the difference?" Then he started to complain about how he dislike Delicious since the very first time he went there. Overpriced and so-so food and the latest is bad service. Hubby has banned the restaurant but I love the dessert there. Oh, well.

Clayton rejected the tofu in the miso soup, steamed egg (chawanmushi) as well as the plain rice on the sushi. He took only the garlic fried rice as it was yummy and fragrant. Smart ass.

This is my second visit to Oh Sushi! The first visit left us a good impression (both food and service wise) and therefore we are here again to try out its other food.
